When you type something like "file.htm" in the url, the ".htm" is the file
extension, in this case it indicates an HTML file. There are many other file
extensions like ".jpg" which is used mostly in websites for graphic content or
the ".mp3" used for audio files.

Try typing file.jpg or file.mp3 or file.txt in the url and see what happens...
